The Journey Begins

Who am I? Here’s a little background of me….

My name is Patrick. I am an actor currently living on the east coast with my Husband of 3 years. Actor you say? Yes, but I originally hail from Reno, NV (they call it the Biggest Little City in the World).

I was one of those young fresh faced kids who was in every play in high school, performed in all the choir competitions etc. I had dreams bigger than Reno, NV. So upon graduation, I packed my bags and set out to NYC to attend an acting conservatory and to one day make it big!

Well years later, I’ve enjoyed this roller coaster of a life working in my field. Have I “made it big”? It depends on what you mean by big, ha! I’ve had the chance to do live theater, be on soap operas and even record several voiceovers. I’ve realized as I’ve gotten older that getting the chance to do what I love, and get paid for it, is far more important than anything else. In this career jobs are sometimes few and far between, so you have to “make it work” as they say. I’ve catered, bartended, cold called, you name it! But every time I book that acting gig? Everything falls into place

My point is, I always say to make the best of what life throws at you. Sometimes we have to hustle to get to where we need to be. As long as you’re positive and happy, then you’re living a great life.

So that’s a bit about me…I’ve gotten to do a lot of fun and exciting things. But one thing I’ve never done is write a blog..so here are the reasons why I decided to do this.

Fashion

I’ve always loved fashion. Since I can remember my Sister coming to visit when I was just a young tween. She was modeling in Hollywood and would come with the most amazing designer outfits. Beautiful bright and bold patterns, leather jackets, you name it. She did campaigns for Diet Coke, L.A Looks and more. I was inspired and hooked! I knew who Jean Paul Gaultier was before Madonnas cone shaped bra, ha!I loved the individuality she showed with her sense of style. Since then I’ve always loved fashion and wearing what makes you feel great.

I’m a lover of shopping new trends to mix with my own individual self. Friends have always complimented my personal style and asked for help with their own personal shopping. This felt like a perfect opportunity to share what I love about my own individual style.

Travel

I love to travel. I remember my first trip to Disney when I was four. Yep, I’m one of those Disnerds. So much so, I’ve even worked for them aboard the Disney Cruise Line performing as a Mainstage performer. Yeah, remember I said I liked to travel. Well, this was the perfect way to do that and get to still perform, and GET PAID!

I’ve been to Italy, Spain, France, The Bahamas, Eastern/Southern/Western Caribbean, Mexico, Portugal, Colombia just to name a few! All from a ship. I’ve had the fortune to see some beautiful places. Another reason to share some of those adventures here.

lifestyle

I live a life of love and peace. I believe what you put out is what you get in return. I live my life in positivity. My philosophy in life is happiness. Now maybe that sounds like a generalized statement, but it is. Because for each person, happiness means something different. So get yours. For me, happiness is my Husband, my work, my friends, my sense of being and self worth. Now, I’m not saying I’m perfect and I don’t have bad days. I wouldn’t be human if I didn’t. But I always go back to happiness and self love. As the one and only RuPaul herself says, “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else? Can I get an amen up in here?”
