Spring and Summer Fashion Dos

Hi Everyone. Hope you’re all having a glorious week.

Spring is here! The pollen is in the air (insert sneeze), the flowers are in bloom and we’re gearing up for those barbecues and weekend getaways.

I wanted to share with you my thoughts on this seasons fashion dos and what I like to add to my own personal style.

In the spring and summer months I’m all about comfortability with an edge. I love to wear printed tees with a pop of color or prints with a solid counterpart. And of course you have to accessorize!

We all want to get out and enjoy that beautiful weather, now why not do it with a look that’ll pop?

Here are some of my favorite ideas for the season.

Short sleeve prints

(From left to right) Topman; Folk; Zaraman

Now I know it can get hot these summer months, but it doesn’t mean your look has to suffer. I love wearing lightweight short sleeve printed button down shirts that show some personality and they just happen to be in this season. Go for a fun floral or even a geometric pattern. If that feels too much for you, choose a nice fun color and a printed shirt. It’s all about mixing and matching.

Short shorts

L TO R: VERSACE, DIOR, DUNHILL, FENDI, WOOYOUNGMI, ALEXANDER MCQUEEN, OLIVER SPENCER, LOUIS VUITTON, DOLCE & GABBANA, ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA.

Yep, you read that right. The short short is very in this season. I love a shorter short anyway, especially when it’s so hot outside you can’t take it. Let those legs breathe, ha! Again, it’s all in the proportion. The print or style is based on your preference, so show off those legs!

Minimalist sneakers

Keep it simple. A white sneaker is such a classic look and goes with anything. It’s such a nice balance if you’re wearing prints on top. If you’re not into a white shoe for fear of getting them dirty (though a magic eraser works wonders), go with a classic sneaker. The classics are back this season.

Sandals

(ASOS)

Let your feet breathe. 2019 is bringing the hiking sandal into the forefront. When I’m not into wearing sneakers, I love to opt for more of an elevated version of a black leather strap sandal. It really gives your look a more sophisticated and modern feel.

Handbags

(from left to right: Herschel; Coach)

I don’t know about you, but in the spring/summer season, I always need somewhere to put my loose items; like my phone and wallet. Who wants bulky pockets? It’s always a struggle when it’s warmer because we aren’t wearing jackets to hold those things. Well, a big trend this season is the handbag. I always love having a bag with me anyway, but lately I’ve fallen in love with my waist pack. Not only does it hold my wallet and phone, it turns into a fun accessory. If you’re not into that, a simple strap bag will do the trick.

Accessories

Top and L to R: LL Bean; Alice made this; Zaraman, Bailey of Hollywood

There are some go to items, in my opinion, that are always in style. These are some things I love to incorporate into my looks. If your wearing a solid tee, add a bandana or even a necklace. If you like an all around simple look, add a bracelet or watch or a ring or two. Top it off with a cool pork pie fedora. Do you! Adding these little details just adds that extra touch to what your style is.

So those are some of my my dos for this season. Do you have any faves you love to incorporate into your look?

Just remember to be confident and dress how you want to feel. Embrace your own style. And just by adding those little touches, you’ll elevate your fashion.

Peace,

Patrick
